To all Cannon and Wells Lake area neighbors,
Spring is upon us and hopefully lake weather is fast approaching!!
By now, you have surely heard the Cannon Wells Lake Association (CWLA) was resurrected in the fall of 2020 with a focus on helping our lake community be the best it can be. 2021 was a busy year for the CWLA. Two of our biggest projects were Weed Harvesting and Cormorant Management. We have been working with both the DNR and the Federal authorities in an effort to have successful activities on both these fronts. Weed Harvesting is slated to be completed by the end of June and the Federal authorities will conduct a cormorant shoot in early May. We have also contracted with Blue Water Science to perform a survey of the lake. This will be used to guide the projects proposed by the board and as a tool to pursue grants for
lake improvement projects.
In year one the CWLA also created a web site www.cwlakes.com and an email address cwlakeassoca@gmail.com. Feel free to contact the board if you have any questions.
We have approximately 120 members in the CWLA so far. Thank you to all who have joined in the effort to date; your support is much appreciated!! Membership is open to anyone with an interest in improving our community. The health of our lake community depends on each of us doing our part so that ALL may enjoy our lakes. For those who have not yet completed the CWLA Membership application and submitted their $50 annual dues, we ask you to complete the attached membership application and return it as soon as possible.
